ETHEREUM
Ethereum is a decentralized cryptocurrency and blockchain platform with smart contract functionality. It was specifically designed to remedy all problems and shortcomings of the bitcoin platform that surfaced as this first cryptocurrency gained traction worldwide. Ethereum dispenses with energy guzzling and costly proof-of-work to validate transactions and provides a Turing-complete environment to program smart contracts without limits of complexity. Smart contracts are programs and protocols to facilitate the automated performance of a contract. Blockchains are often described as trustless systems because a software program will inexorably execute the terms of the contract while the decentralized system itself cannot be tampered with.
Ethereum went live in summer 2015 and has become the blockchain platform of choice for many start-ups and industry giants such as Microsoft. A global singleton, also dubbed the World Computer, Ethereum has conjured images of the Matrix and Terminator Skynet in journalistic circles. Much less ominously, Ethereum describes itself as an innovative commons commoditizing trust.
I am currently involved with partners in an Ethereum development of a decentralized application (DAPP) for gaming. This mobile peer-to-peer (P2P) application pitches players in duels against each other, as opposed to individuals playing against a computer.
The Proton Therapy Center Marbella (PTCM) is an ongoing project in development to introduce the most advanced cancer treatment technology in existence today, Proton Therap to Spain.
Proton Therapy is an alternative to standard radiotherapy for tumor sterilization with a proven record for reduced side-effects – up to 70% less energy delivered to healthy cells than with standard photon radiotherapy – and the promise of higher effectiveness in terms of tumor recurrence. Uniquely, Proton Therapy is the tool enabling the delivery of the desired high radiation dose to the tumor while sparing surrounding healthy tissue.
PTCM is marketing driven and aims to dominate Internet-based PR, education and marketing of Proton Therapy for target cancer type indications, and will funnel self-referrals (up to 30%) to our Medical Partner Network for triage, thus streamlining PTCM operations, while driving new business to the MPN members.
The key digital tool to achieve patient recruitment will be an Online Tumor Board, a panel of oncologists from all specialties including PT who provide individual patients online with a second opinion on their specific diagnosis and their eligibility for Proton Therapy.

Patrice Pouillard is a life-long friend and I produced his feature film "Who Wants to Be a Star" in 2001. The Japanese release is called "Survival Room".
Patrice has directed and produced the immensely successful documentary "The Revelation of the Pyramids" which is regularly shown on French television and had over 2 million documented viewins online in France alone. On YouTube, it is probably the second most watched feature length documentary of all time, after Zeitgeist.
Estimated viewings are about 20 million worldwide generated exclusively by word of mouth. It is available in 20+ languages, dubbed by volunteer aficionados.
I assisted Patrice with this production and his book Gizeh 2005 and am working on digital marketing of his next movie.
